Book Review: “A Wrinkle in Time”
Imagine having the worst day of your life and after you me three people it suddenly changes. Meeting people that can teleport and they tell you that you are the key to saving the world. Traveling to different dimensions just because you can. Well, Meg Murry has to go through all of this in the book A Wrinkle in Time written by Madeleine L’Engle.
It is about a girl named Meg that is having trouble fitting in at school. However, right after school while she was on the road she meets the three misses, Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which. The misses tell her that they can wrinkle time and there is something called the Dark Thing trying to taking over the world. The misses tell Meg that it is up to her to stop it. I think the plot of the story is really fascinating because it imitates real life with also having some element of fantasy.
One interesting part was when Meg meets the monster It. This part was my favorite because it makes Meg see that being different is okay. In the world of It, everyone has the exact same movements and same agenda. It shows the real life lesson of the book in this scene–In order to be yourself one must believe in themselves. This moment alone makes me think of the theme and how it affects the book. The part also shows how creative the author is because it was a very creative way to make Meg learn her lesson.
Meg always facing regret, perseverance and failure in this 10/10 masterpiece. The constant action in this book makes you want to keep on reading. This book is perfect for someone who loves Science Fiction and anyone who likes an action packed adventure.
