The Loop
The waves crash onto the sand
Alone there must be thousands
Of tiny grains sand
The ocean ebbs and flows
Never to stop
The loop continues over and over
It’s the cycle that will never break
The seagull looks into the water edge
As he stands on the ledge
And watches the movie that never ends
The waves are restless
They have barely changed
Not a single altercation
And it never takes a vacation
The water never slows
The wind howls and waves crash
I can the sandpipers making a dash
My nose runs
My breath is cold
Though I can’t take my eyes off what I behold
The beautiful sigh of the ocean
The water lashes out on the rocks
The sea calls in its endless time
I know it will never die
It’s the constant that never will stop
